Since the middle 1980's Dr. Thrasher has recognized that individuals with environmentally related illnesses have severe reactions to the volatile organic compounds present in fragrances and other cosmetics. Exposure to chemicals from the aromas in fragrances precipitate symptoms of brain fog, increases neurocognitive dysfunction and brings on other symptoms such as fatigue, joint and muscle pain, reactive airway dysfunction and the aggravation of existing asthma. Dr. Thrasher is an advocate of a fragrance free environment and refrains from using any fragrance products.
